Back in 2006, I heard Splatterhouse out of Portland, GOREgon during one of my searches about the arcade game of the same name. Much like the game, I became obsessed w/ this band + was lucky enough to catch them @ CBGB’s NYC while they were on tour w/ Machetazo. Following the show, I fed my obsession by tracking down + collecting all the releases + merch they put out . . .

SEVENTEEN years later, I am proud to officially announce I have the honor of releasing Splatterhouse’s ENTIRE discGOREgraphy of recorded material on cassette! As a huge fan of this band, I went all out for this one!

This special release includes:

* 2 cassettes in over-sized VHS clamshell case w/ 2 full color inserts
* Debut (and only) LP “The House That Dead Built” (2004)
* Split w/ Gruesome Stuff Relish (2003)
* Split w/ Birdflesh (2006)
* Official tribute cover of “Blasphemy” by Nunslaughter (2007)
* Unreleased cover of “Digging In” by Nasum (2007)

. . . BUT THAT ONLY SCRATCHES THE LID OF THE COFFIN!!

During the planning of this release, the band excavated an unreleased track from the vaults known as “Cryptcrawler,” which will be available for the first time EVER on limited edition lathe cut! (track will be on the cassette as well). Tapes + lathe avail separately or as special edition bundle w/ both tapes + lathe + set of limited edition trading cards (w/ artwork + “fun facts” about each release), along w/ MASSIVE mini-zine feat. a brand new interview w/ the band, photos, flyers, artwork, and more — a full retrospective of the band in print!

This release has a ton of moving parts + is expected to ship early 2024. CD version also available from Self Made God Records.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names. Bertrand Marchal
